Managed by

Lyrical Asset Management

Operating out of New York, Lyrical was founded by 2 long-term friends who studied together in the 1980’s and have shared their investment journey ever since.

Through carefully analysing the cheapest shares across the world, Lyrical’s aim is to find the Gems Amid the Junk™.

The firm looks to identify good-quality companies with understandable business models, building portfolios that look and perform very differently to the general market.

Fund objective

As part of Curate’s specialist global range, this fund is designed to invest in a portfolio of shares classified as “value shares”. This means their share prices are below what the manager believes the companies are worth. Over time, this is one of the most proven investment styles, as investors benefit when share prices revert upwards as the market recognises their true value.

Investment Philosophy

When Lyrical is looking for new investment ideas, it focuses only on shares in the cheapest 20% of the market. They believe these shares have the greatest potential to deliver high returns over time. However, the firm wants more than just a low price. It searches for quality companies that it believes are temporarily undervalued and invests only in businesses with low levels of debt, high returns on capital, and business models that it is confident it can understand.

Fund related risks

investments in this portfolio can move up and down substantially. It is not suitable for investors who want to avoid variable returns over shorter periods. Extreme events could have a particularly large impact.
